3 ROYAL SCHOOL OF MILITARY ENGINEERING REGIMENT (3 RSME REGT)
Time has flown since I stepped into the role of QMSI PD, and now, two years into my tenure, I’ve seen significant progress and development. Upon reflection, my journey from being a newcomer to becoming an integral part of the team feels incredibly rapid. In these two years, we’ve not only rebounded from the downturn caused by the pandemic but have also seen a substantial increase in course sizes. The team has excelled in adapting to the evolving demands, consistently producing fit and resilient trainees and trained soldiers across the diverse courses hosted at Minley Station. Their unwavering commitment, professionalism and work ethic are why I feel immensely honoured to be in this role and to collaborate with the exceptional team we have at 3 RSME Regt / Minley Station.
This last year has been filled with numerous highlights and achievements. While it’s challenging to encapsulate all the memorable moments in this brief update, I want to spotlight the extraordinary efforts and advancements that define our current status. The growth, resilience, and dedication displayed by everyone at 3 RSME Regt have not only enriched the training experience for our service personnel but have also strengthened our collective capabilities, setting new benchmarks for excellence in our field.
Record Breaking SCR. Trainee Sapper Pawan Rai from 77 Training Party QGE, broke the Trainee 2km run record with a time of 6:10, bettering the previous record by 5 seconds.
Trailwalker 23. 3 RSME Regt entered 4 teams into Trailwalker 23. The event sees

teams of 4 take on a brutal 100km route across the South Downs, starting at Queen Elizabeth Country Park and finishing at Brighton racecourse. A challenging event that tested teams in demanding terrain.
EXERCISE MINLEY CHASE. Ex MINLEY CHASE is a 24-hour running event that takes place each year at 3 RSME Regt. Each team of 8 must complete as many laps of a 5.5km trail route as possible in a 24-hour period. This year 10 teams from across the unit took on the challenge with 76 Trg Party’s team taking the victory, completing a total of 63 laps.
3 RSME Regt RAPTCIs. Finding the time around a demanding job as SI of the P&RTC, Sgt (SI) Muskwe RAPTC, attended the Army Athletics OSV to Cyprus. In his role of Assistant Team Coach, he delivered several sessions
Sgt (SI) Oz Muskwe during the Army Athletics OSV to Cyprus
to some of the top athletes in the Army. Sgt Muskwe has also had a busy season as UK South Cross-Country Secretary, ensuring all events are conducted to the highest standards.
WO2 (QMSI) Mairs RAPTC got the chance to get out of camp and up some hills when he attended the Land Warfare Centre (LWC) QMSI Briefing Seminar, which took place at the Infantry Battle School – Brecon. A great two days of networking, sharing best practice and socialising with the LWC PD cohort.
As always, the delivery of PT never stops and as we close out another fantastic training year, I can only hope that the upcoming year is as successful for both my Gym Staff and 3 RSME Regt.
