PRIMARY CARE REHABILITATION FACILITY (PCRF) WARMINSTER
PCRF Warminster provides Level 1 care for Waterloo Lines and surrounding units, this includes
Land Warfare Centre (LWC), Captains’ Warfare Course (CWC), Falcon Sqn, RDG and a number of Service Personnel (SP) who are here temporarily on various arduous courses. RDG are currently force generating to deploy, providing support to their soldiers so that they are at a deployable grade is one of our current important objectives.
In my first 6 months here at PCRF Warminster my main aspirations have been to continue to develop myself as an ERI by making the most of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) available to me through the various schemes available, I utilised External Education Training Support (EETS) to access online learning around my busy schedule so that I stay relevant within my profession as an ERI. I have also attended rehabilitation workshops with the likes of the renowned David Grey, which I found to be of great benefit as it has reignited my passion for returning injured personnel back to their previous physical training level or sport which they enjoy.

We have seen an increase in Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) patients concurrently, so I have started up a solely focused rehabilitation class to cater for these personnel to help alleviate caseloads and provide more routine contact for them, helping to hopefully improve and progress them quickly to operational effectiveness.
Even with the busy schedule of PCRF Warminster, I am a great advocate of the RAPTC ethos and a keen believer of leading by example, that is why I always like to strive for a high level of fitness by partaking in the PT/ Sports on offer within the Army. I continue to participate and be involved as the secretary 2ic within the UK (S) Cross-Country League. Our mission this year was to increase participation through amalgamation with the RAF for two races of the season, due to the slow decline in numbers over several years this managed to boost our participants considerably overall and will therefore be something we will endeavour to keep and potentially expand upon. This season I managed to place second overall individual in the senior open category and as part of the Warminster Garrison

PRIMARY CARE REHABILITATION FACILITY (PCRF) YEOVILTON
This year has seen the focus of the PCRF set on Quality Improvement Projects (QIPs), with a Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection due. With over ten percent of the Royal Navy being based here and the main contingent being the Fleet Air Arm & Commando Helicopter Force, operational output has remained high for recent global events. The rehab team conducted a Continuous Professional

Development (CPD) day at Plymouth Marjon University which introduced the team to a BASES accredited testing laboratory and its use in rehabilitation and sporting performance. The CPD day has also allowed us to establish some inter-departmental links which has led to further opportunities for future CPD workshops. The latter stages of the year have seen one of the Physiotherapists cover jobs in Cyprus and now in Brunei.
For the ERIs, the focus has been on education with one enrolling on a MSc in Sport Rehabilitation, the main aim of their thesis project is the Menstrual Cycle and the relation to sport performance. They are currently in the collection stages, and we look forward to seeing the results over the next three months. Alongside this they have also had the opportunity to work in a civilian sport injury clinic at the University.
