the Second World War. We dived amongst the stunning rusted remnants of the warship, which towered over us in the shallow waters. We were also treated to the bizarre sight of a Toyota Prius lying nestled next to the decaying hulk, having been blown off into the sea in a storm several years prior. In the aftermath of this fantastic dive, we returned to Diveshack to sign the remain- ing paperwork which acknowledged us as fully qualified divers.

On the Saturday before we travelled back, we visited several historical locations on the island, including the historical capital of Mdina, the beautiful St Peter’s Pool and the ruins of the ancient Tarxien Temples, which are comparable to Stonehenge in their age and mystery. That evening we finally left Malta, having enjoyed an experience we will be sure to remem- ber for many years to come.
