The last day was
coasteering along the
coastline at Fistral
beach. The sun was
magnificent as we
pulled up onto the cliffs
overlooking the beach.
We met up with our
two instructors and
handed out our wet-
suits and life vests.
Once we had finished
huffing and puffing to get into our
wetsuits... we were set! An amaz-
ing walk along the cliff edge got us
to our entry point into the sea, the
sea was almost tropical and crystal
clear, but still cold, and there were
some audible gasps as we jumped
in! We swam along the shoreline
exploring caves and jumping from cliff ledges that got higher and higher as the day progressed. This was testing for some members who had a fear of heights, but the group really supported them, and they managed to keep jumping the higher we got.
The day culminated with hearts racing as we scaled a rock wall that lead to the last and high- est jump; one misstep would mean plunging into
the frigid water and starting the tir- ing climb again. After a lot of push- ing and shoving we had worked out the order of jumps and we were soon hurtling off the edge into the sea. The adrenaline really took its toll that day as there was some heavy eyelids as we drove home that evening. After a
delicious BBQ we were off to bed.
Friday morning and everyone was awake bright and early and met by another gloriously sunny day. The two vehicles where packed and eve- ryone was onboard for an 0800hrs departure time. Four uneventful hours later we where back in Sunny Sandhurst and spent the weekend reminiscing.
