Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medal Parade and Presentation
On Fri 1 Jul the Colonel of the Regiment, Gen Ian Cave CB, joined us at Weeton Barracks for the presentation of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medal. With the families in full voice, a clear parade ground and fine weather, the 2nd Battalion marched on with the military band of the Prince of Wales at the head. With medals presented, the Battalion then moved to the Families Day which had been prepared by the Welfare Officer, Karl Rhodes, and his team of two, CSgt Rob Hirst and Cpl Ned Kelly. Dodgems, bouncy castles, dogs and
a band in full flow, it was a cracking afternoon enjoyed by all. No small effort by all involved, it was a cracking day.
