CHAIRMAN’S REPORT
I hope that as you read this report we will finally be out of lockdown and enjoying being back in the Community. I know residents myself included have missed out on many happy events and celebrations either cancelled or reduced in numbers. We look forward to a great summer!
We welcome new Councillors Kathy Cairns and Jerry Hawkins and now have a Full Town
Council of 13 residents to represent your views and opinions.
As I write I have just returned from a fabulous staycation week in Devon enjoying family catchups, beach time and a chance
to switch off and relax. We have wonderful holiday destinations in this country as I am sure many of you have or will discover this year.
We are fortunate to live in the beautiful Nene Valley and can enjoy and take part in walking, cycling, tennis, canoeing, sailing
and other sports and activities on our doorstep. The cricket season is in full swing and you can watch some of the many boys, girls, men and women’s teams play at the Sports Association Club in Chancery Lane. Thrapston also have a great Ladies Rounders team who won the league last year and play at the sports ground.
The many diverse groups and activities on offer in the town will hopefully be resuming again
and may be looking for both old and new members for support. The Thrapston Town Guide and App will have contact details should you wish to try something new.
Take a look at nenevalley.net for ideas and activities to enjoy throughout the summer with children and family.
Please continue to support our High Street and local businesses and enjoy all they have to offer.
Best wishes, Cllr Val Carter
