Good news! The clock in St James’ Church is chiming once more. It has taken a while to get
it running to time but we are hopeful it will continue ringing out over the town from now onwards. It’s good to know that many people are pleased to hear it ringing!
The churches of Thrapston, Denford and Islip continue (24.6.21) to meet on a regular basis in church buildings and are pleased to welcome visitors in as well as see so many familiar faces behind the masks. There is no longer any need to book so please come along and join us when you can. All services are Covid compliant.
Online video services have ceased but a recording of the Sunday morning service is uploaded to the website each Sunday afternoon along with a separate recording of the sermon.
You can listen to these sermons and services online at www.tdichurches.co.uk
The popular JAMES Club service will pause during the school holidays but families are encouraged to attend the 10.00am service and can always sit in the balcony if they feel the need for more room to move!
Praise and Play was able to meet in Peace Park on several occasions before taking a break over the summer holidays. We are hoping to meet
in church from the beginning of September (depending on Government restrictions) so watch this space or check the website for up to date information.
Our young people of secondary school age continue to meet in person on Thursdays and Sundays. Please e-mail tdichurches@gmail.com for more information.
This year 2021 marks 800 years since the
first recorded Rector was appointed to St James Church, Thrapston. We don’t have an exact date so are hoping to have held a celebratory service in July (restrictions and weather permitting) and are planning a concert later in the year.
We look forward to joining in with Thrapston Charter Fair on September 11th.
Again, restrictions permitting there will be refreshments in the church and activities in the churchyard. Come and have a wander around our beautiful and historic church. Imagine where people sat 800 years ago, think about the many people who have been part of the church family since then and find out what’s on offer in 2021. Look out for us in the High Street too.
Saturday 11th September is also the Historic Churches Annual Ride and Stride. Please be in touch with Ray Banner 01832 730767 if you’d like to walk, ride or sponsor someone.

St. Nicholas Church, Islip
It’s been lovely to have had some services in St Nicholas and we have welcomed friends from Denford and Thrapston – a definite help with our unaccompanied hymn outside church at the end of the service
We hope that after July 19th things may
be able to open up even further so keep an
eye on www.tdichurches.co.uk for up to date information or ring one of us for more up-to- date information. If you would like to be receive an electronic ‘noticeboard’ which I have been sending out to regulars do send me your email contact details and I will add you to the list.
More table top sales are still being considered! Keep your eyes open for announcements.
