ROTARY SHOEBOX APPEAL
Thank you for your continued support of the shoebox appeal. Any donations can be dropped off at 10 Heron Avenue.
We are just raising the money
to purchase them and are hoping
to start filling some soon. We are
happy for people to make their
own and drop back to us – further details on that soon.
The boxes are £2 each – the more we buy, the cheaper they are. We are aiming to purchase 500 as we do each year. We also have some plain boxes to fill as well.
Any donations of small toys or money towards cost of boxes, would be much appreciated. Also household items and bits for teenagers – as we do boxes for them too.

Thrapston Plaza Opera looking on the bright side
As Government restrictions hopefully continue to be lifted, Thrapston Plaza
Opera are planning ahead for a fully staged performance of Franz Lehar’s popular comic operetta ‘The Merry Widow’ in the Plaza in February 2022.
This could not be more of a contrast to our last production, Bizet’s popular yet tragic tale
of ‘Carmen’ presented in early 2020, just before the first Lockdown. So much has changed for us all since then especially with social gatherings forbidden for most of the year.

Opera are very hopeful that ‘live’ rehearsals can begin to take place in September and in fact are planning to start in St James Church Hall at 7.30pm on Tuesday 21st September.
Whilst the five principal roles will already have been cast by then, several minor roles
will still be available for consideration without formal auditioning – and new chorus members, especially men, will always be welcome! Should your interest and skills be rather more ‘back stage’ additional members of the production crew are also needed.
