Community news..............................................................................
The angels from St James’s Church have been out and about
A very big well done to all our knitters, crafters and distributors. Nearly 300 angel Christmas tree decorations have been appearing all over Thrapston, Denford and Islip, bringing joy to our community in these dreary days. Each pack contained the gift of a decoration, an invitation to our online Christmas services, plus leaflets for children and adults
explaining why Jesus’ birth is such good news. All the packs were put together and distributed in a Covid-Safe way and then left in all sorts of places for people to discover.

A BELATED REPORT FROM OUR CHRISTMAS TREE CELEBRATION
Despite a downpour, for a short while, we were blessed with a lovely afternoon to wander down to the churchyard to enjoy an amazing display of creativity with beautifully decorated Christmas trees. As well as
the carols ringing out, and once darkness came, the magical lighting of the whole area brought it to life and gave us our very own “Son et Lumiere”. It was another example of our very wonderful, special village togetherness! We are so lucky to live here!

Thank you too to the children and staff of Thrapston Primary School who made 500 angels to complete the Nativity Window display. Sadly we couldn’t welcome hundreds of people into church for our services this year or run our usual school visits, but we hope that many people walking through the churchyard were able to pause and reflect on the birth of the baby Jesus.
A baby, born to bring joy and hope to a darkened world, a message just as relevant today as it was over 2,000 years ago.
special THANKS to Ben, Robin and Peter, who managed to transform our beautiful churchyard into a magical wonderland!
We send you all love and hugs. Stay safe and healthy. Feel free to contact any of us at Holy Trinity if we can help with shopping etc or just to chat!
