   The Lord-Lieutenant, Mr Ed Anderson CBE with West Yorkshire Recipients
MAJOR CHRISTINE MASSEY
Major Christine Massey is an outstanding role model and an accomplished leader with a real passion for delivering the best cadet experience possible for all members of the Army Cadet Force. Her enthusiastic transformational leadership style is a positive and infectious influence on all cadets and all adult volunteers with whom she meets. During her service she has held a variety of appointments including Detachment Commander, Administration Officer, County Signals Officer, and her current role as Officer Commanding B Company, where she has brought a high level of performance and commitment.
She has strived to develop strong links within the communities to foster and develop strong links with charities including the Royal British Legion and the Invictus charity for example. In addition, during the COVID-19 pandemic when members of the ACF were unable to meet, Major Massey was an inspiration who was instrumental in keeping the flame alive
for the cadets by developing and delivering virtual training which resulted in 383 members of the county obtaining training qualifications.
SQUADRON LEADER ANTHONY STAINCLIFFE
Squadron Leader Tony Staincliffe has served over thirty five years in uniform and throughout that time has proven to be an exceptional leader and organiser, commanding three squadrons, always improving and delivering to a high standard, evidenced by the fact his squadron achieved the Lees Trophy for the Best Air Training Corps squadron in the country. He took on the role of Wing Adventure Training Officer and developed adventure systems and training, greatly expanding what was available to cadets. He led by example achieving qualifications in Duke of Edinburgh’s Award leadership, paddle boarding, mountain leader, mountain biking and scuba diving.
He has been involved in numerous overseas expeditions including being the Adjutant for the Corps Skiing Course in Bavaria. In 2008 his skill and expertise were recognised with his appointment to his current Regional Adventure Training post. He
has developed specialist teams to deliver numerous different events to the cadets and has also developed

and organised electronic ways of monitoring equipment and ways to see what is on offer; together with allowing staff to understand what and how to develop themselves with Adventure Training.
SQUADRON LEADER ADAM WAUDBY
Squadron Leader Adam Waudby joined the organisation in 2006, as a cadet before beginning his volunteer service as a Civilian Instructor in 2011 and commissioning in 2017. Having served at a number of units, he moved onto the Wing Staff in 2019 when he was appointed as the Wing Music Officer, seeing him raise the profile of the Wing Bands, resulting in increased participation and performances at many high profile events.
In 2020, initially alongside his musical duties, he was appointed as the Wing Aviation Officer, working tirelessly to ensure cadets are able to participate in
all aviation based studies, be it through the high level synthetic training or learning practical flying skills through the Air Experience Flights and Volunteer Gliding Squadron programmes. He is also a highly contributing factor in the increased success of Air Cadet Pilot Scholarship places being awarded
locally, with many of the candidates achieving solo standard on their courses. A major success has been the planning and delivery of a Wing Aviation Centre,
a creation of his own design and a resource that has made the highest level of return on investment. The centre allows personnel to benefit from high level, synthetic, training in the aviation syllabus creating high quality training opportunities that are second to none.
FLIGHT LIEUTENANT CARL ALSOP
Flight Lieutenant Carl Alsop joined 2487 (Easingwold) Squadron as a thirteen-year-old
cadet in 2001, becoming a Civilian Instructor in 2008. He quickly moved into uniformed service and was appointed as a senior non-commissioned officer before commissioning in 2015, initially as a Squadron Officer, and assuming command of his home squadron in 2016.
He has been instrumental in the development of the Wing’s Adventure Training team, creating a fulfilling and worthwhile experience for cadets at
