2025 is our 30th anniversary year. Let’s make it a bumper one for events! If you want to run an event but are unsure about how to proceed, see Nigel’s message below.

Field Event Adviser
A new role of Field Event Adviser has been created for the club. This is a very infor- mal role to give help and advice to members who would like to organise their own day or weekend field mee􏰀ng, either in their area or further afield, but may feel a li􏰁le
apprehensive about doing so especially for the first 􏰀me.
Ini􏰀ally there might seem a lot to be considered, including where to bird, but I can assure you that everything does come together. Helping and advising you on all the elements of organising a birding day out is where I come in if that help is required. I can either send you a step-by-step guide to aspects to consider (including the health & safety aspects) by email, or we can talk on the phone or WhatsApp etc. All my contact details are below.
The main thing to remember is you do not have to be an expert bird watcher to run an event. The members who join you on the day are not going to hold you to account for what birds you see as it all becomes a very friendly team effort. The friendship and relaxa􏰀on on the day is just as important as the birds you find and enjoy.
Give it a go, I guarantee you won’t regret it.
