Armed Forces Day at Himley Hall on Sunday July 1st, 2018.
The Walsall and Kidderminster branches again joined together to set up the Association’s Stall for the Armed Forces Day at Himley Hall. This has now developed into a very large and exciting event. It
is a time to meet old friends and renew friendships besides furthering the aims of the association.
The day would not be successful without the hard work of members and their families. In particular Philip and Jane Fairbrace. Others work hard to sell the books and other articles that have been collected during the year, everyone is very tired by the end of the day, but it is a great family day enjoyed by everyone.

The Commemoration of the Service of the Territorial Force during the Great war
The Association held a commemoration service at the Mercian Grove National Arboretum, Alrewas on Sunday September 23, 2018, to remember the service of members of the Territorial Force during the Great War and the 100th Anniversary of the end of the war.
The service was led by Major Ian Strongman TD, Lay Reader at St Mary’s Church, Kidderminster. A member of the Association and our Chairman Lt Col A J Scott, MBE gave the address. The event was supported by music provided by the Tenbury Town Band who played during
the service and the picnic afterwards adding much to the atmosphere of the day. We were joined by members of the other antecedent Associations and their standards which reminds us of the family links that go back so many years.
To conclude the more formal proceeding the whole assembly marched past lead by the Regimental Mascot, under the watchful eye of WO1 Tommy Falls. The salute being taken by our Chairman, Lt Col A J Scott MBE.
The weather was kind to us so that the picnic could be enjoyed in comfort and old
friendships renewed, ably supported by Major Chell’s ‘Mercian Pale Ale ‘specially brewed for the occasion.
Without the support of many people we would not able to undertake these events. Thank you to the Tenbury Town Band, Major Strongman, Major Chell and his team, the staff of the National Memorial Arboretum, the members of our fellow antecedent Associations, our own members, and finally RHQ Mercian for the Regimental Mascot to lead the parade.
