SWAP
Happy 1st birthday
The Seed Swap in Oundle has just celebrated its first birthday and is well stocked with a variety of seeds ready for all keen growers in Oundle. The contents in the containers are ever changing as people bring open or unused seed packets or harvested seed from their gardens, depositing them for others to enjoy sowing.
Created during the lockdown to give the community a free facility to exchange seeds, the Seed Swap encourages all budding gardeners, young and old, to have a go at growing flowers, fruit, and veg. It is an opportunity to perhaps experiment and try growing new and different things. Swapping seeds encourages us all to share our resources and waste less, adventure into discovering new things – and the best
bit is it is FREE!
Having been running for a year now, the box is brimming with a huge variety of seeds ready to be swapped. Currently available are some sunflowers seeds you can grow in support of Ukraine – the world’s largest producer of sunflower oil.
Simply visit the Seed Swap Box located
on the gate post at Spindles, 11 Cotterstock Road, Oundle (PE8 4PN) to pick up some seeds
(envelopes are provided) and get going.
Take only what you need and revisit the box
to add to it during the year any seed packets you no longer require and are happy to pass on to others. Encourage your friends and neighbours to come and take part in the Oundle Community Seed Swap, its FREE and open to all.
Your feedback is very welcome. There is a Feedback Book in the drawer for
recording any interesting tips and hints about growing from seed or report
successes and disasters so other growers can learn from other.
Lastly, there are no guarantees the seeds will germinate, as not all the
seeds in the swap box will be viable, but every seed is packed with HOPE!
