CHAIRMAN’S REPORT – Councillor Craig Wheeler
What a glorious Summer we have had
so far! We enjoyed fantastic weather for our Teddy Bear’s Picnic at the beginning of August. Thank you so much to all who attended. I hope you had a lovely time. We raised £32.21 for Dementia UK with our Name the Teddy competition (in case you are curious... he was called Bertie and was won by Danny!). Our next big event is the Jamboree in the Peace Park on Saturday September 15th as part of the Nene Valley Festival. Thanks to funding from Anglian Water and the National Lottery we have our biggest ‘Party in the Park’ budget to date, so we are making all activities and entertainment FREE! We will have local food and drink providers there (sorry – not free!) and a live band playing hits from the 70s, 80s, 90s and noughties throughout the day. We hope you can come along and enjoy a fantastic day out celebrating our great town.
