Vandalism / CCTV
We are disappointed by the recent acts of vandalism that have taken place around the town.
• An enormous amount of litter left lying
around the Skate/BMX Park;
• Evidence of a fire at the rear of the Plaza
• Graffiti in the Skate Park;
• Graffiti on the acoustic sound panels at
The Sidings;
• Graffiti in the Peace Park;
• Damage to and removal of fencing at
the Skate Park and entrance to the
Town Walk;
• Flag Poles at the mosaic removed and
the glass orb at the top smashed.
All the above costs money to put right which the Town Council pays for through its precept – the money collected from our residents through their council tax.
We would ask you all to be vigilant – if you see or hear of any acts of vandalism, please report it to the Town Council.
The police have been informed and we understand they are carrying out more frequent patrols of those areas most targeted. From the Town Council’s point of view, we are pleased to advise that we have now negotiated an upgraded CCTV system throughout the town giving us greater coverage, including the MUGA, Skate Park and Plaza. Works should commence over the next few weeks.
