East and North Region Adventure Training 2018 – Yorkshire 3-Peaks Challenge

After being voluntold to organise some AT, I took the easy way out with the Yorkshire
3-peaks challenge... or
so I thought! The
25 miles involving
1450m of ascent must
be completed in under
12 hours. Pen-y-ghent is a modest 694m, Ingleborough is 723m and Whernside is an imposing 736m.
During the planning stages, I
recruited 2 MLT’s from the Northern region, resulting in the ‘East Side Massive’ adventure training being hijacked by an influx of ‘Northern Monkeys’. This was actually brilliant, especially considering the East Regions flaky nature!
Being from Derby, I am very cheap. I planned to camp, but LCpl White dropped not-so-subtle hints in the months leading up to the exercise that we might want to consider a bunkhouse. In fact, she outright refused to camp, and formed a mutiny.
It turns out the mutinous hoard were on
to a winner, and everyone sacked off the campsite for the relative comfort of the
