AMS Netball
LCpl Vernon RADC
For the last year, I have been lucky enough to play in the AMS Netball squad, in ‘AMS 2’, playing in the position of Wing Attack (WA). I have enjoyed playing Netball since my early teens, having played outside and within the military.
The AMS Team has been one of the most welcoming of all the teams I have played for and the enthusiasm, encouragement and support from all players is always high.
The AMS team have some extremely talented players, with some playing at international level, and the team also have a good number of personnel from the RADC. This not only includes players but the AMS Netball Chairperson is Maj C Winship RADC and the AMS Netball President is Col T Davies CDO (A).
AMS Inter Unit Competition 15 May 2018
For the Inter Unit Competition I formed part
of an amalgamated team of personnel from minor units. Our team placed second of eight teams winning all but one game, finally losing to 16 Medical Regiment from Colchester. The AMS Team held a training weekend following the competition, and it was safe to say that all players were feeling the effects of three days of matches and training.
