FESTIVAL OF
REMEMBRANCE
– HULL CITY HALL
We finally returned to help out at the RBL Festival of Remembrance at the Hull City Hall, an evening we always enjoy.
This year the emphasis was on the 40th Anniversary of the Falklands conflict. As such, our Operations Officer, Lt (SCC) Janice Spicer MBE RNR, delved into her stock of vintage uniforms and utilised her contacts to obtain the correct uniforms of that period. The group of suitably attired Cadets stood on the steps of the Hull City Hall (which itself was lit up by poppies) and greeted guests. It brought back memories to some veterans who had served in that war and the fact that their sacrifices were remembered meant such a lot.
Other cadets helped out with the selling of programmes and a team of cadets performed the Hornpipe. It was good to be back!
Helping out the RBL (Willerby Branch)
Junior Cadets were in attendance on one of the days spent at Waitrose helping the RBL Poppy Appeal.
It’s a family affair
It was a proud moment for the Killey family when the twins joined their brothers as part of the unit.
Cadet 1st Josh Killey: Junior Cadets Sophie and Laura Killey with OC Ben Killey.
