ADVENTURE TRAINING – EXERCISE COCKNEY DOLPHIN
With some free time in the calendar, September saw the Band and Bugles take part in some adventurous training. This time we spent the week in Newquay, Cornwall, where we participated in hiking, mountain biking and coasteering – the coasteering was an all-round favourite! The weather was very sunny for September which made our activities all the more enjoyable. The week enabled the Band and Bugles to develop their teamwork and communication skills in a new environment where we were able to push ourselves out of our comfort zones, away from our instruments and in the great outdoors. It was immensely enjoyed and appreciated by all, and our thanks goes to Cpl Carl Jacobs and his team who put in huge efforts to make the week run smoothly.
BELIZE STTT
During the period of Remembrance, members from The Band and Bugles of The Rifles, British Army Band Sandhurst and The Band of The Royal Regiment of Scotland respectively, flew out to Belize to take part in a short-term training team. They were a brass quintet tasked to support the Belizean Defence Force Band (BDF) with their Remembrance duties, and work with members of the band dur- ing the 2 week lead up to their various events around the country.
