Can you fill a Rotary Shoebox to make someone smile?
Our Rotary Shoeboxes have arrived, paid for by our generous supporters. Although we can’t do our big Shoebox Launch Day - we still plan to send as many boxes as we can fill.
Our team are starting this week – socially- distanced in the garden. So, praying the weather is kind.
If you wish to make a box up yourself (the costs have been paid already) just stop by and collect some from 10 Heron Avenue, Thrapston. Fill them and return them. There will be a blue box by the back gate to put them in please.
We encourage people to make one up themselves – it helps children understand that some children have nothing. Encourage them to put in a photo or letter or a favourite toy. We know it brings such pleasure to those making them up. We will miss seeing you all at our usual Launch Day. God willing – next year.
But the boxes will go – despite COVID.
We have some plain boxes too – these are for those wishing to do Operation Christmas Child boxes. The boxes are free, due to a generous local company.
When it is filled by you bring it back – you will need to pay £5 towards delivery/shipping costs. We will arrange to get them collected by OCC.
We wanted to give people the chance to do either. So the choice is yours.
The virus has changed how we normally do the boxes – but we are determined to send as many as we can. These will go to orphanages, families and refugee camps in Eastern Europe.
Rotary do for all ages – so you can choose what box you want to do from items below:
