Planning to be back in 2021, the Charter Fair salutes keyworkers
Due to Government restrictions on numbers meeting (the rule of 6) we have cancelled our AGM this year and have started planning the 2021 Thrapston Charter Fair which we hope will take place in Thrapston High Street on Saturday 26th June 2021. This will be
the 30th anniversary of the Charter Fair in modern times.
In 1205, Thrapston was granted a Market Charter by King John, for the price of two palfreys. It is the only town in Northampton- shire that still holds livestock markets.
Every year, Thrapston celebrates its market status with a fair and in its present form it has been in existence since 1991.
It takes place on the last Saturday in June, in the High Street, which is closed to traffic from 11.00am until 7.00pm. Stalls, displays and exhibitions are located along the whole length of the street and opens with a parade starting from the Bridge Hotel.
As you are probably aware there is ALWAYS a theme and this year we have
decided to recognise and celebrate ALL KEY WORKERS & LOCAL HEROES.

The use of the Plaza Centre on Charter Fair day is always a highlight of the day, often filled with dancing, but this year
we would like to feature local people in a different way. We are asking local artists, craftspeople, photographers, cartoonists
(to name but a few) if they would like to exhibit their work in the Plaza Centre on Charter Fair Day between 2.00pm and 5.00pm. Decisions have yet to be made as to whether this is will be an opportunity to sell, but it will be wonderful to showcase the work of local people. If you are interested
