IS IT A BIRD?
‘Andrew! Wake up! Pete Sturgess is here from the Animal Rescue Centre. Come on!’ whispered Mrs Weston. ‘It’s three thirty. You were the one to tell him to be here at this hour of the morning. The bird, remember?’
Andrew Weston rubbed his eyes and tousled his hair. ‘I’d forgotten all about it,’ he said yawning as he slipped out of his warm comfy bed.
He dressed and made his way downstairs, carefully avoiding the bottom two squeaky treads. Quietly, he opened the front door and grabbed a coat. Pete Sturgess was waiting by the gate.
‘Good morning, Pete. It’s a good thing that Lisa set the alarm. I would never have woken up.’
