the equivalent course in the Netherlands is smaller in size with only a handful of international students.
Dutch culture is quite similar to the British, and it is only a one hour flight away, so it has been very easy to fly back home during the course.
Living in a small country, the Dutch are internationally-oriented and have reasonable English language skills. Having conversations in the College Sports bar is much more difficult than listening to a lecture, but this might be due to
the alcohol or bad acoustics, or perhaps something to do with dialects from Wales and Scotland? It was mentioned at the start of the Course, that the ACSC International Day is one of the highlights of the year, and we can confirm that it is. It was a great opportunity for every participating country to show the other students, and their families, the countries’ cultural preferences. In our case, orange gin and a toast to our King! It was an honour and a privilege to study and work with the other students and staff in ACSC!
ACSC 21 HAD THE privilege to have two students from the Netherlands: an Army Officer and an extremely good looking Royal
Marine Officer. The Netherlands sends at least one officer every year, but for this year, all of you at ACSC got lucky! We see this as an excellent opportunity, as
