Maj Harry Morse as the Club Captain. Final training was the rst of three ACSC v ICSC matches won by ACSC 5:1. Con dence was high heading into the rst games.....
The rst proper game of the season was against Chippenham Hockey Club early in October. The Defence Academy scored 2 penalty corners courtesy of the power and accuracy of Cdr Matt Flegg – the training had worked. Unfortunately, Chippenham scored 8 goals as the DAHC struggled to nd shape against a very skilful side. Results could only improve from here!
The second match against Witney resulted in a 5:1 loss for the DAHC but was deemed an improvement from the rst match. Thankfully, the third match against Old Chelts in early December, played in freezing temperatures, was a far more competitive affair resulting in a 2:2 draw. The nal game,

THE DEFENCE ACADEMY HOCKEY Club had a very successful season in 2016 to 2017. Membership of the club has exceeded fty
players and Monday evening training sessions had regular attendance of 25 players, a welcome break from academia.
Membership is inclusive and has involved Military
students and staff, ESS & Serco, Cran eld civilian students and partners of Military personnel. The DAHC is one of the most diverse clubs at the College, not only for membership, but also for ability. Experience has ranged from International players to those that have never picked up a stick.
