pre-Christmas, was the second ACSC v ICSC clash with ICSC exacting revenge on a struggling ACSC side. ICSC won the game 9:0 and this was followed by a signi cant number of club members heading to the Gulshan in Shrivenham for a mid-season social.
The second half of the season highlighted the improvements that had been made. An in ux of new talent and committed club members achieved their rst win of the year against Chippenham. Some
of the best passages of play of the whole season leading to a comprehensive 6.1 win for our club. Two weeks later the team played Witney losing 4:1 to a team of seasoned players and young students who would not stop running. In mid Feb the club played a return match against Old Chelts away in Cirencester. Old Chelts hosted the club graciously and the game was all the better for the DAHC as we achieved a 4:0 win with spectacular saves from Maj Neil Sturman, new to Goalkeeping this season. The penultimate matches saw a testing encounter with Swindon
resulting in a 5:1 loss and a hard fought 3:2 victory over some skilful students from the Oxford UOTC. Finally, the club had its return match against Witney and, with the team looking for revenge following the earlier loss in the season, this was always going to be a tempestuous affair. This was the highlight of the season and as the team rallied one last time, with outstanding performances across the pitch, the DAHC came home as victors with a 5.2 win.
All that was left was to settle the honour of victory
in the ACSC v ICSC competition. Following an obligatory Club photo, ACSC captained by Cdr Matt Flegg, faced up against a very strong ICSC side
led by Maj Chris Majcher. Despite recruiting players from all over the Defence Academy, ACSC were the underdogs and, despite plucky efforts, suffered a heavy defeat 6:0. The result was swiftly forgotten in the Eagle Pub in Watch eld where almost 35 club members met for the Club dinner, Speeches and Prize Giving.
