This has been a year of remarkable development and growth at Oundle Medical Practice. Our team has expanded, allowing us to offer even more comprehensive services to our patients. This year we welcomed two new partners, a specialist diabetic nurse, a pharmacist, social prescriber and a healthcare assistant. We hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and look forward to an exciting 2025!
We have completed our flu/covid clinics
in October and have delivered 1,820 flu vaccinations and 1,820 covid vaccinations, best numbers to date! Thank you to everyone that attended these clinics. We will continue to offer flu and covid vaccinations so please contact reception to be booked in for this.
RSV vaccine clinics
Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a common cause of coughs and colds, and many people may catch it multiple times over their lives. While RSV often resolves on its own, it can lead to more serious conditions like pneumonia and bronchiolitis in certain groups, particularly babies and older adults. To help reduce these risks, a vaccine program is available.
• Pregnant Patients: Vaccination is recommended from 28 weeks to help protect your baby. This can usually be arranged through your maternity team, or you can book an appointment with us as part of your antenatal care.
• Patients Aged 75–80: We will be inviting patients in this age group to book into one of our nurse-led clinics for the RSV vaccine, available on Wednesdays and Fridays. Invitations will be sent weekly or biweekly, starting with those aged 79–80 and working down to age 75.
We hope this programme will help protect those at higher risk. Please reach out with any questions or for further assistance with scheduling.
Doctor-led triage
We’ve updated our patient booking process to a doctor-led triage system. Now, each patient who calls speaks directly with a GP first, ensuring they are directed to the most appropriate
team member for their needs. This change has allowed us to increase our capacity, enabling us to assist more patients each day. Our online portal, Anima, is also part of this new system, and our reception team will be happy to help you get set up. We hope you’ve noticed an improvement in the service you receive and welcome your feedback to ensure we continue meeting your needs.
A MESSAGE FROM OUR WONDERFUL DISPENSARY TEAM Please ensure you get your prescriptions in before Christmas! Dispensary will be closed on 25th- 26th December 2024. Last date for prescription request is 19th December.
