EAGLE AND CARBINE 25 AGC (SPS) DETACHMENT
 Capt J Young
2022 dawned with the Regimental Administration Office Department fully ready to support a busy year. Postings in and out, military and career courses, adventurous training, sports, exercises, operations, and inspections have all taken place. Reflecting on a successful year, the focus of the Regimental Administration Office department now switches to return from operations and another a busy year ahead.
We have welcomed seven new arrivals who have brought with them a mixture of enthusiasm, energy and experience. Cpl Paterson arrived from 1 RMP in January and was followed by Sgt Bell-Bailey in March from 3 Regt AAC, who took up the role of Sys Coord. The new RAO, Capt Young, moved across the airfield from 2 REME to take up post in April. Pte’s Fairbrass and Gurung arrived from Phase 2 training at Worthy Down in May and June respectively and were thrown straight into Regimental life with G1 preparation for ROTO 5 of Op NEWCOMBE. The new RAWO, WO2 Russell, arrived from JITG in October, and last but not least our new Det Comd, Lt Waddle, arrived from 32 Engr Regt just in time to deploy on Op NEWCOMBE in MALI.
There have also been quite a few departures from the department this year starting in January when the RAO, Capt Stevenson, left to spend 6 months in sunny Kenya with UKSpN (EA). He was followed in March by the Sys Coord, Sgt Innes, who moved to the slightly less sunny climes of NI. Summer saw us lose Cpl Paterson and Sgt Bell-Bailey on maternity leave and WO2 Taube, who managed to half her daily commute by being assigned to 3 RIFLES in Edinburgh.

Lastly Lt Donbavand left her role as Det Comd to take on the challenges of a Platoon Commander at ATR Pirbright. We look forward to welcoming back Cpl Paterson and Sgt Bell-Bailey in 2023 and wish the others well in the future.
Not surprisingly, the focus of the Regiment this year has been on the preparation for and deployment on Op NEWCOMBE ROTOs 4 and 5 and the Detachment have supported the Regiment tirelessly in their prepa- rations both as administrators and soldiers.
Although ROTO 4 had no role for MPAs both Cpl Gurung and LCpl Keicher of B Squadron adopted the soldier first ethos and carried out all pre deployment training along in order to deploy in the roles of gunner and crew member, proving their adaptability and warrior spirit.
ROTO 5 saw a much smaller deployment than planned, however Cpl Haining and LCpl Tasker stepped up to the plate and participated in a myriad of exercises in support of the TGHQ, latterly joined by the incoming
