cases, the Retail Manager has been able to source alternative suppliers. One of the frustrations of being based in the Castle is that the Shop is beholden to Historic Environment Scotland: so, when concerts or other activities take place early in the evening, or if the wind rises above a certain speed, the Castle closes. This, inevitably. affects the turnover but this must be weighed against the many positives from being where it is. In the summer there was a change
in the part-time staff as a number left. For some reason finding new members of staff was not as easy as in the past. As 2022 draws to a close, the omens are looking good for the future and the regular staff of Teresa Park, Allan Nelson and Joanne Finlayson plus the part-time staff must be thanked for their efforts in running the Shop so well.
