Kingston. The summer wrapped up with a Division level Armour Corps exercise, Camp Worthy (lead by the GGHG), allowing our members to hone their new skills in a large scale event.
The highlight of our year was the presentation of our new Guidon on 24th September. This Guidon features our first Theatre Honour “Afghanistan” for the Regiment’s significant contribution of personnel during the Afghan War. The event included a mixed “Dining In” to honour current and former members that served in Afghanistan, the Guidon presentation parade, and an all ranks barbeque. The Guidon was presented to the Regiment by The Honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell, OC, OOnt, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario.
To close out the year, we welcomed our new RSM, CWO Matthew Wilson, in December and bid a fond farewell to our former Adjutant, Capt Ken Pichie, who retired following an incredibly distinguished career as an RCD in the Regular Force. Finally, we had 6
members selected for the upcoming OP IMPACT rotation, as well as 2 members participating in OP NANOOK-NUNALIVUT, a domestic operation in Canada’s North.
