The Windsor Regiment (RCAC)
2022 was an exciting year of challenges and change for the Windsor Regiment. We started the year still under many COVID-19 related restrictions, which made in-person training on a large scale quite challenging, however the Regiment rose to its motto and developed new training techniques to allow us to continue developing our armoured troops. Additionally, we started the transition from a traditional Armoured Reconnaissance role to a new Armoured Cavalry based doctrine. Making the most of our new proficiency with virtual training platforms, we attacked this training head on, working closely with the 1st Hussars (1H)
out of London, ON. As restrictions gradually lifted we were able to put our virtual training into practice on many joint training exercises with 1H at our side.
We saw a successful summer training season with 10 members obtaining their RQ Trooper Course, and joining D Sqn in their new roles as drivers. Our Band has also been able to return to performing at public engagements, and performed at several high-profile events across Ontario, including the Holy Roller rededication service in London, the Canada Day Tattoo in Hamilton, and the Fort Henry Tattoo in
