1st Regiment Royal Horse Artillery
LCpl Dean-Penhallurick planning a fun day out at the New For- est waterpark, numerous leaving functions one of which being a top table to congratulate Capt Wyatt on his commission and an opportunity to give the junior tradespersons a little look at what mess life can be like and not to forget St Eligius Day celebration which gave all the LADs within Larkhill garrison the opportunity to come together and display their engineering prowess culmi- nating in a competition much like scrapheap challenge with each team constructing a means of transport and a means of propel- ling an object across a field, with the personnel of 1st RHA LAD coming out victorious with a gas powered cannon.
As the year draws to a close the LAD ever ready for the next chal- lenge continues to show why we have the reputation we have fought so hard to maintain, we say goodbye to the regiments last AS90s on the third round of Gik and hello to more L118 light guns requiring a full rehabilitation program on equipment that had
been in storage for years. All of this coinciding with WO1 Aaron Gittins taking up the seat as ASM with a lengthy handover from WO1 Will Shaw. Much like his larger than life self WO1 Shaw pre- sented a 10 ft tall steel and brass REME cap badge to sit pride of place outside of the LAD HQ which should hopefully stop people from asking where the LAD is.
