Quartermaster Technical department Bombardier D Milsom
  Another busy year for the Quartermaster Technical depart- ment which has seen us drafted into a plethora of real-life support tasks, exercises and managing the day to day run- ning of the Regimental accounts.
As always in the world of Logistics its “work, work and no play”, the department has been busy throughout the year, preparing for major Exercises, EX SCORPION LIGHTENING, EX CYPHER WARRIOR and EX CHESNUT STRIKE setting up the ammuni- tion control point (ACP) and the JESJET in order to increase the logistical arm to SUP 2 on Salisbury plain training area (SPTA). The department also underwent the land equipment assurance (LEA) inspection and the department is already looking forward to what will be a well-deserved stand down for summer leave.
Capt Sterry has only been with the department for a short period but in that time, he has made an impact in the Dept. ensuring that people are always in the right place at the right time. In his short time at 1st RHA, he has tried to get everyone in the Dept Cat C to enable everyone to be deployable throughout the Regiment.
WO2 Riley (RQ Tech) has been in post for two years now and is now moving. During the last year he has re-written the regimental equipment entitlement. Managed the ACP on exercise to a high level of competence. He has also supported the RA Cadets with ammunition and pyrotechnics on their annual training camp.
SSgt Robinson has had a busy year again and has recently completed a Defence Transport Managers (DTM) course, he has also been successful in securing promotion, and we will sadly be losing him to 3rd RHA. Follow- ing this he has completed a Warrant officers ALDP and gained a Level 7 in leadership and manage- ment. SSgt Robinson is currently training to run a 47-mile Ultramarathon in November 24 to
raise money for Combat Stress.
RQMS (T) Riley
Sgt Gurung has been the tech Sgt for just over a year and had a busy one at that. He assisted with the gifting in kindness (GIK) HO/TO due to his knowledge of MJDI. Involved in OP VENTUS Sgt Gurung ensured the items were all received correctly and on time. He has completed the dangerous goods (DG) Course on the road, rail, and air. Sgt Gurung has successfully promoted to the Rank of SSgt and has posted out to 26 RA as a BQMS in 132 BTY. During his time in the QM Department, he carried out the ASEMSA for the Regiment and with his hard work and dedica- tion the Regiment passed inspection. He was awarded with Army Individual Safety Commendation.
Bdr Merry has had a busy year as standard as the Tech Bdr. On exercise CYPHER LIGHTENING he delivered a lesson on how a
