150 Years of Childhood
  Do you remember the ‘150 Years of Wedding Dresses’ exhibition in Cotterstock in 2018?
Soon Saint Andrew’s Church, Cotterstock, will be the backdrop for ‘150 Years of Childhood’ on the 30th April and the 1st and 2nd May from 11am–5pm.
comics and annuals such as Beano, Dandy, Rupert, Eagle, Topper and Beazer or perhaps you had a collection of Ladybird books? These things will all be here and much more besides, to ensure a nostalgic trip down memory lane. The organisers challenge visitors not to say: “I remember those” or “I had one like that”.
  Childhood memorabilia dating from the 1830s to the 1980s will be on display. Victorian and Edwardian nursery furniture, rocking horses, dolls houses, and china headed dolls will all be on
show alongside christening robes, silver rattles and gifts, clothing, shoes, and toys of the time.

In addition, members of the Market Deeping Model Railway Club will have trains running on elaborate layouts all weekend.
Admission is £5 (cash only please) with accompanied children free. The price includes a quirky complimentary
 You might have collected PG Tips cards or Whimsies, or played with Pelham puppets, Sindy, Barbie, Meccano, Dinky and Corgi toys, Action Men, Bayco, Hornby train sets or Hot Wheels. Perhaps you were lucky enough to have a Raleigh Chopper bike or a Mamod engine? Possibly you made your children dresses from parachute silk in the 1940s or pushed them in prams from the 1950s and 60s? Did you like
goody bag (whilst stocks last). All proceeds to St Andrew’s Church.
Refreshments will be served in the village hall and outside in the garden weather permitting. There will also be activities for children to
try too. It has also been rumoured that the renowned flowerpot people and their friends will be amongst the bunting in Main Street. Please note there are some steps in the Church.
