‘Transported into Las Vegas- style glitz and glamour’
For Christmas 2023, Joint Hospital Group (North) organised two morale focussed events, bringing together serving & retired members of the Queen Alexandra’s Royal Army Nursing Corps (QARANC) for a daytime lunch and an evening function for unit personnel.
The Christmas lunch brought together serving and retired members of the QARANC, providing an opportunity for them to share stories, reminisce, and create new memories. The warmth and camaraderie that filled the room served as a reminder of the strong bonds that exist within the QARANC community, transcending generations and ranks.
Amidst the winter pressures faced by our clinical staff, working alongside the NHS and the challenges posed by industrial strike action, the unit Christmas function was a welcome opportunity to relax and socialise away from the high tempo of the clinical environment. The ‘Las Vegas’ style Christmas party transported attendees to a world of glitz and glamour, offering a well-deserved opportunity for relaxation and revelry.
It was a night where JHG N staff could let their hair down, don dazzling attire, and dance the night away, casting aside the pressures of their demanding roles. All members of the unit found solace and joy in a vibrant party, superbly organised by junior soldiers.
Both events were made possible through the generous contributions of the QARANC Association, which undoubtably enabled these occasions to be delivered at a subsidised cost, maximising the opportunity for all to attend. The assistance of the QARANC Association epitomises the spirit of giving and the commitment to caring for the well-being of those who serve in the Corps.
The meaningful impact of the Association’s contributions resonated deeply with all those who attended, creating an atmosphere of gratitude and appreciation for the support they received and continued to promulgate the esprit de corps ethos.
