Joint Hospital Group North (JHG(N)) and 3 Medical Regiment based at Gaza Barracks, Catterick Garrison, paid their respects to the fallen in a combined parade led by WO1 Coull (QARANC). Simultaneously a small contingent, led by WO1 Olive (QARANC) also marked the occasion in November, with civilian colleagues from the NHS Trust at James Cook University Hospital (JCUH). We were delighted to have Chaplain Nikki Thornhill RN (RCDM) officiate the parade.
With members of both units formed into hollow square, Sgt Smith, Cpl Lowe, Cpl Ross and LCpl Douglas (all QARANC) recited poems and religious readings before the act of remembrance, which was accentuated by the haunting music from bugler Sgt Wright from the British Army Band, Catterick. Wreaths

were laid by the youngest members of each unit, Pte Joule (QARANC) for JHG(N) and Pte Barker (RAMC) for 3 Medical Regiment.
Following the act of remembrance, personnel were able to enjoy a curry lunch held within the junior ranks dining facility. There was plenty of time to talk and reflected on past experiences. The lunch was kindly funded by the QARANC Association for those members who are part of the Day’s Pay Scheme.
In the run up to remembrance activity at JCUH members of the unit added to the Garden of Remembrance, which was built last year by unit personnel, as well as poppy selling for the Royal British Legion. The garden was again the focal point for the act of remembrance at the hospital site. Pte Elliott (QARANC) laid a wreath for JHG(N).
