Thrapston, Denford and Islip Churches .............................
Whilst the church remains in some measure of lockdown, it certainly is not locked out. In recent months churches have been forced to re-examine what they are about.
One thing for certain is that the church is not about a building, but it’s about people. Initially places of worship could be opened for private prayer, but the reality is that prayer can happen anytime and anywhere. And although there has been some ease
of restrictions, and churches can reopen
for public worship, we feel that the present guidelines prevent us from achieving some of the key purposes for which we meet in person – like singing, hugging, or sharing tea and coffee.
But meeting in person is only part of
what we get together for - we can still meet remotely for fellowship, worship, prayer and sharing together, so, for the time being, unless something drastically changes by the time this article is published, we will continue to maintain an on-line presence and meet the needs of people through private, socially distanced, visitation and other means. We want to say that we are here for you and you can contact our minister, Mat, via phone or email.
All the details of our on-line meetings
are on our website www.thrapstonbaptist. co.uk and you are of course very welcome to join us. Also on the website are links to a series of video reflections that our minister, Mat, has recorded. These have been well- received and you may find them helpful too.
Finally, a reminder we have set up a special “Prayer Request” contact form so that you can contact us, in confidence, and ask us to pray with you or for you or your family. Find the link on the website, or directly on: www.thrapstonbaptist.co.uk/ prayer-requests

St Paul the Apostle is now opening on Sundays from 10.30am until 12.00pm for private prayer only.
All COVID-19 measures are strictly observed and everyone is welcome, unless they are shielding, showing symptoms of the virus, or unaccompanied under 16 year olds. Numbers are not limited but if more than the permitted 12 want to be in church at any one time the congregation will be asked to limit their time in church in order to allow others private prayer time. Social distancing should be maintained. Volunteer stewards will be inside and outside of the church, to help with all the changes put in place to keep everyone safe.
Apart from this, public acts of worship
will not be resuming until further notice
and subject to guidance from the Bishop, but there are daily, live streamed Masses online from Northampton Cathedral and Walsingham Shrine and in the very near future, there will be live streamed Masses from Our Lady’s church in Corby, with Canon Michael and Fr David. Certainly something to look forward to.
You can get in touch with Canon Michael Harrison and Fr David Donaghue by email.
