Borrowing books? Thrapston Library has a new way of working
NCC are reopening some of their libraries next week (July 2020), with very limited services, so following the Team Leader meeting yesterday, we have decided to open Thrapston Library next week too. We will be offering a ‘Select and Collect’ and a ‘Library to you’ service, because the public will not be allowed to enter the library yet.
Books can be ordered by telephone
or email on a Tuesday for collection or delivery on Friday and ordered on Friday for collection or delivery on Tuesday. Collection will be from a table outside the library at a predetermined time and customers will be asked to provide their own bags, if possible. Books will be quarantined for 72 hours and disinfected prior to being either collected, delivered or returned to the shelf. A box
will be left outside the library during these opening hours for customers to return books, if they do not wish to collect any more. The library will be manned by two volunteers on Tuesday and Friday from 10am until 1pm to answer the telephone, pick up messages on the new mobile telephone, reply to all of the emails and process the books.
The best news is that customers can
now ring Thrapston Library direct on 01604 368209. Unfortunately no answer machine can be attached to this number, so a
mobile telephone has been purchased for customers to leave messages. The mobile telephone number is 07587 926655 and the email address is: ThrapstonCML@gmail.com
