5 RIFLES Homecoming Parade
A warm autumnal day was the welcome backdrop to HRH
The Duchess of Edinburgh, in her role as the Colonel of the
5th Battalion, presiding over the homecoming parade for
5 RIFLES in Bulford, following a six-month deployment in
Estonia. It was also an opportunity to witness the JNCOs
cadre pass-off parade. This was a superbly planned open
day by the battalion, with their families and veterans in
attendance. The relaxed and very friendly environment
spoke volumes about the close-knit bond of the battalion.

5 RIFLES hosted members of RHQ
to a Bugle Breakfast held at the
Officers’ Mess in Bulford. Typical of
the Commanding Officer’s mess,
the atmosphere was relaxed and
very welcoming. It also provided a
good opportunity for members of
RHQ to meet some of the battalion
personalities. The Bugle Major
confidently reminded all present of
the Bugle calls in an entertaining
and exciting way, debuting some
young buglers to playing in closed
environments.
