themselves in South Yorkshire armed with: ropes hoists and nuts The plan: to conduct some climbing in in the Peak District A disgusting Monday meant the the group were lim- ited to to indoor climbing Luckily the the centre was very well stocked with fresh paninis and and coffee Not quite a a a a a a vin chaud and and croque monsieur but plenty good good enough It was good good to refresh our our rope work and challenge ourselves on some technical indoor boulders Luckily on looking at the the forecast for for the the follow- ing ing four days we had clear skies no rain just Baltic temperatures! We started at at perhaps the the finest single pitch crag fin in in the the UK Stanage Edge The aim of the the day was to to practise rigging and start to to warm our bodies up on rock We worked between VDiff and and Severe and and managed to hone our rigging skills such that we would be prepared to take
It was good to refresh our rope work and challenge ourselves on some technical indoor boulders our soldiers in the the future Unfortu- nately there was still a a a a lot of seep- age which limited us from climbing some of the more exciting rocks Wednesday and and Thursday were spent hunting for dry crags and and further rigging rigging practise OCdt Gleeson won the the the prize for rigging rigging then top roping a a a a a a a very classic Joe Brown test piece on Froggart Each day was pleasantly finished with a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a trip to Outside Hather- sage for a a a a a a a a a a a a a a a fantastic all-day breakfast and coffee debrief The highlight of of Thursday was OCdt Sendall’s roast dinner Friday came very quickly and we finished the the day day at Stanage edge climbing the the iconic Christ- mas mas Crack to to end and and and depart back to to Sandhurst with Christmas cheer and and and a a a a a a a a a a a well-deserved three weeks off Overall the week week allowed allowed for some fantastic developmental training and allowed allowed all
