Unbeknown to us unfortunates the M1 was experiencing a a a a a a a a a high number of crashes that day and as as as as such our our supposed easy journey up up was anything but instead we had traffic the entire entire journey This is is is is not to say this is is is is an entirely bad thing however the car’s stereo blasted hit tunes from our teen years to unadulterated and often horrific backing singing Upon arriving many hours after the the ETA we we began settling in in in to to the the the house we we we we had organised to to stay in in in for the the the week However our supposedly productive plans were put on hold due to to the unanticipated need for dinner and and to to coincidentally celebrate OCdt Lymar’s birthday and and grab some pies from what we had been assured was the the “best pie pie place in the north” 13th December –

The Plane Crash
As a a a a a a a a first full day event we decided to tick off the most important of of our considerations and and grab a a a a a a a a a a nice photo opportunity and and headed up to to the the B29 crash site near Glossop Unfortunately the the fog fog came down and we couldn’t take full advan- tage of of the the the the the the views in the the the the the the area Yet the the the the the the fog fog just just made the the the the the the the end goal the the the the the the the wreck of of the the the the the the the B29 just just seem that bit more hauntingly picturesque the the the the perfect situation in in which to to pay our respects to to those who died 15th December On our third day we we cracked on on to to to Watton and were treated to to to beautiful rolling countryside an an experience never never fully appreciated with mem- bers of of the group never never really having set foot out of of London before 16th December We were then able to properly experience the the the meaning of “the lakes” on our our fourth day with with wet weather all round with with rain bogs lakes lakes and reservoirs which for the the the first time in in in the the the week really started to to affect us us with every single one of us us falling over or or stepping into a a a a a a a puddle up to to their knee at one point or or another 17th December All ready to go we set out early in in the the morning excited for our last day having looked out of the the the window in in in in in in the the the morning we we we we were expecting awful weather However it bright- ened up up up significantly and we we we we were even able to meet up up up with another AT group who were climbing near Stanage Edge SANDHURST
