WHAT’S ON
In and Around Thrapston
Spring is on the way – snowdrops
are out, and other spring bulbs
are starting to peak through the
ground. Some of them surround
the WI bench down by the lakes.
Do stop and rest awhile there whilst
admiring the beautiful scenery.
In March, we have our Annual Meeting,
which marks the end of one WI year and the
start of another. It has certainly been a busy
2024! Do feel free to come along to hear what
we got up to, and what we have planned for
2025. There will also be a swap table, and
time for a social catchup, so visitors would be
more than welcome. The £5 entry includes
refreshments. And did I mention the raffle?!
Our programme for 2025 is in place and
features a mixture of talks, crafts, exercise
(strictly optional!) and food. At the time of
writing, we have just been on a trip to Stanwick
Lakes for pottery painting and are looking
forward to a coach trip to Stratford
upon Avon. Our next committee
meeting will be focussing on trips
and outings for the rest of the
year. There are also many events
organised by our County Federation
that are available to us.
We are looking forward to a busy year
involved in our wonderful Thrapston
community. Our team came second in the
recent Council organised Quiz and Chips, we
hope to be at the Annual Town meeting, and we
are making plans for the Charter Fair.
We also have a walking group and skittles
team who both meet every other week.

meet on the first Thursday of the month,
7.30pm, at Thrapston Baptist Church.
