    This was conducted in two
phases. The first phase of
the exercise was conducted
on 21 and 22 September
and the second phase was
conducted on the 7th and
8th October 2021. Addition-
ally, under the commitments
of operational and non-op-
erational deployments, the
Regiment was able to release
a number of Officers and
Other Ranks for the training programmes conducted
both in local and overseas
institutions which are immensely benefi- cial to their career development process.
Adding glamour and honour to the President Standard awarded to the Regiment, a newly constructed Colour Chamber was declared open by Major General DBSN Bothaota RWP RSP USP psc, the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps on the invi- tation of then Commanding Officer of 1st Reconnaissance Regiment Lieutenant Colonel SJ Samarasinghe psc on 23rd June 2021.
Being the most senior Regiment of
the Sri Lanka Army, the 1st Reconnais- sance Regiment is known to many as a Regiment with pride and dignity which intends to carry out each and every order by being exemplary to other Regiments in the Corps. In order to maintain the
prestige and values of the Regiment, all Officers and Other Ranks are contrib- uting their maximum to the Corps and the Army to fly high the Regiment colours for the years ahead.
