Bucks DA Report
When I took over from John as chairman of the Bucks DA covid struck and I thought if we as a DA can get through that, anything else will be a breeze. Little did I know! Last September my wife Lesley was diagnosed with cancer, which meant I could not attend any of the meetings the DA had arranged, including the AGM. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the committee and members of the DA for all the support they have given us during this difficult period.
The DA Kicked off the year with our AGM followed by a talk by Mark Hall about growing Long and Globe Beetroots. We also welcomed back Professor Sandy Primrose who did
a talk about the Irish Potato Famine, which I was told were both well attended. We also arranged two garden visits. The first our yearly visit to John Branham’s Garden and the second to Kathy Browns Garden in Stevinton Nr Bedford.
I hope to be at David Thorntons talk on fertilisers on the 17thOctober 2023 and fingers crossed after Lesley has been given the all clear.
