Writing this at the end of March for May is difficult – none of us know what it will be like.
But as a church we can be confident that these unusual times (to us) are not unusual to God. He is in control and we can be confident that as Paul says in Romans 8:28 “We know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.”
Although all our worship services and events at the church are cancelled, we will be keeping our website and Facebook page up to date with the latest situations – our website address is www.thrapstonbaptist. co.uk - from there you can click on to our Facebook page.
On the website also there are details of, and a link to, our weekly online Sunday worship services.
If you would like us to pray for you or your family, then please email us in confidence on thrapston.baptist@gmail.com
Live-streamed daily Mass from our Cathedral is available for anyone to watch at home via the Diocesan website: www.northamptondiocese.org
Especially recommended is the Sunday Mass at 11am celebrated by our new Bishop David which keeps us united as a diocese.
Meanwhile, stay home and stay safe until God has seen us through this difficult period. May God Bless Us All,
Canon Michael and Fr. David

The buildings may be closed... but Christ’s Church is open.
God is our refuge and strength, an ever- present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.
These are the opening verses of Psalm 46 and they portray a scene of upheaval and chaos. The poetic imagery is of a world shaken and turned upside down. It depicts a time when things we expect to be as firm as mountains, tumble around us and nations are thrown into unpredictable change, like a turbulent sea.
These current times may feel like that for us. Many are busier than ever, having to radically transform working practices and family life. For others an ominous hush and calm has descended. Some are already
ill. In one way or another, I suspect these are troubling times for all of us. We know there is more to come. But the good news Christians have to share, is that in the midst this instability God offers something truly stable to hold on to. He offers us the gift of himself to cling to. As we turn from living our own way and start living with him, he promises to be our refuge and strength, an eternally secure place to be, so we need not fear, whatever may happen. This is the gift believers have accepted, a gift secured through the life, death and resurrection of God in person. So I pray that you would have confidence in the gift of Jesus.
We haven’t stopped worshipping...
The church buildings are now closed until further notice. But we still want Christians
