1st The Queen’s Dragoon Guards
 Athletics
1st The Queen’s Dragoon Guards held its Inter-Squadron athletics competition at Lynnsport in King’s Lynn on the 28th of June 2023. It was a highly contested day, with something for everyone, from javelin to the elite trooper pentathlon.
Nothing exemplified better the benefits of working as a team as we worked out who could do what best. After 7 events back-to-back in the elite trooper competition, Trooper Njoya came out as champion, being awarded the elite trooper trophy as a reward for his efforts throughout the day. The event was hugely enjoyable and was won by B Sqn. QDG have shown much talent and should look to enter the Midlands Athletics Championships in 2024.
Off the back of the Inter-Squadron competition, Cpl Green has commenced training with City of Norwich Athletics Club after showing huge potential
with throwing. This will stand him in good stead for upcoming Army competitions.
Cpl Cooper placed 6th in
the National standing for
400m and now has the
pleasure of representing GB
going forward. He is looking forward to the European Champion- ships being held in Poland in March 2024.
