Melanie Cooper, alias Marissa Collins, sat on the harbour wall, watching sailing boats prepare for a race. She tried not to worry about her son, Jake, and at times felt like drifting off to another town. She’d disappointed her husband and now her son. Everything was so complicated. In spite of feeble efforts to find accommodation, the idea of living in her sister’s apartment was overwhelming her.
