On Monday afternoon, Steve Bates and his colleague, Liam, had an hour left before their shift in town finished, and Steve decided to pick up a special order from the jewellery shop, a birthday gift for Emily. Walking around, they were always on the lookout for people begging and some were issued with a banning order but usually crept back in. The best spot was outside a sandwich shop where customers would take pity on them and come out with a hot drink and filled bread roll.
