30 CHIRON CALLING
The RAVC Calendar for the rest of 2017 can be found further in this issue of Chiron Calling. The events listed below are repro- duced to remind members of closing dates for returns. Payments for functions must be made with reservations. All cheques are to be made out to ‘RAVC Central Fund’. Further information and return proformas can also be found on the RAVC Associa- tion website, under ‘Events’.
RAVC Council Meetings
The next RAVC Council Meetings will be held at Robertson House, in Camberley on Fri 28 April 17 and Fri 17 Nov 17. The meetings will commence at 1030 hrs and will be in the following order:
a. The RAVC Corps Council.
b The RAVC Welfare & Benevolent Fund. c. The RAVC Of cers Club.
Separate instructions for members of each of the above committee will be sent out by the Regimental Secretary.
Of cers Study Period on Fri 19 May 17
An Of cers study period will be held from 1200 hrs on Fri 19 May 17 at Robertson House, Camberley prior to the Of cers Club Dinner. Further instructions will be sent separately and can also be found on the RAVC Association website.
Of cers’ Club Dinner and Guest Night – Fri 19 May 17
Following the successful guest nights held at the Corps Of cers’ Mess in Camber- ley over the last four years, a combined Of cers’ Club Dinner and Guest Night will be held in Camberley on Friday 19 May 2017. Spouses and partners are also encouraged to attend. All those attending should assemble at 1915hrs, for dinner at 1945hrs. The Dress will be Mess dress (black tie for others, ladies as appropriate) and miniatures are to be worn. There is a Premier Inn on the A30 opposite the main gate to RMA Sandhurst, which is just 5 minutes walk from the Of cers’ Mess.

RAVC Association Committee of Management Meetings
The above meeting will be held at the DAC on Tuesday 23 May 17 and on Saturday 16 Sep 17. Further instructions will be sent out to Committee Members by the Regimental Secretary.
RAVC Centenary Meeting
The RAVC Centenary Working Group will be meeting at the DAC on Tue 23 May 17 starting at 1030 hrs. Details of this meet- ing will be sent out to all members of this committee.
RAVC Morning Service – Royal Hos- pital Chelsea on Sun 2 Jul 17
The RAVC Morning Service at the Royal Hospital Chelsea will be held on Sunday 2 July 2017. The Service is be preceded

by a parade at 1015 hrs, followed by the Sunday Service at 1100 hrs.
A Curry lunch will be served following the service at a cost of £10 pp. (£5 for serving RAVC pers).
Anyone interested in attending the Ser- vice and Curry Lunch is to contact the Regimental Secretary. Further details and a return proforma can be found on the RAVC Association website.
The Master for the Army Medical Ser- vices, Lt Gen Louis Lillywhite has been invited to attend this year’s Service.
RAVC Annual Reunion 16 Sep 17
The 2017 RAVC Association Reunion will be held at the Defence Animal Centre, Melton Mowbray on Saturday 16 Sep 17. The event will include the following:
a. 1500 hrs – Association Committee of Management Meeting.
b.1650 hrs – Memorial Parade and Ser- vice.
c. 1800 hrs – Association Annual General Meeting.
d. 1830 hrs – CVO Of cers’ Club AGM.
e. 1845 hrs – DAVRS open discussion – all invited.
f. 1930 hrs – Annual Reunion Dinner.
Field of Remembrance
The Field of Remembrance will be cele- brated at Westminster Abbey on Thursday 9 November 2017. As this is a ticket only attendance, those wishing to attend this event are to forward their names to the Regimental Secretary by 1 October 2017.
Remembrance Service & Cenotaph Parade
The above event will take place on Sunday 12 November 2017. Owing to the security arrangements for the day, members wishing to attend are to forward their names to the Regimental Secretary by 1 August 2017.

Members and readers will be able to keep themselves up to date with Corps matters and will also be able to send their attendance returns for functions direct to the Regimental Secretary.
Minutes of meetings will be posted on the website for members to read.
The photo gallery is updated periodically to show recent activities taking place around RAVC units.
RAVC ASSOCIATION
The RAVC Association has a Branch known as the Melton Branch, which is based in Melton Mowbray. All those who have served in the RAVC are automati- cally life members of the association, and all those who have either served with the RAVC or are friends of the RAVC are also entitled to become members of the RAVC Association.
There is a ‘one off’ membership joining fee for those wishing to join. The Associa- tion Branch meets monthly, usually on the last Thursday evening of the month at the DAC WOs’ and Sgts’ Mess, courtesy of the Corps RSM.
Anyone wishing to join the Association or who would like to attend the monthly meeting are most welcomed. More infor- mation can be found on the website: ravc- association.org
