The Regimental Trust. The King’s Royal Hussars Regimental Trust is managed by The Regimental Council and is adminis- tered from Home Headquarters (HHQ). The Regimental Council is composed of serving and retired officers and soldiers. The Trust operates within the guidelines published by the Charities Commission for England and Wales.
The Objects of the Trust’s Charter is as follows:
“the promotion of the efficiency of Her Majesty’s Army and in particu- lar the Regiment and of any unit of the Regiment or the Regimental Association of the Regiment”
“the provision of financial assistance for former members of the former Regiments and former and serving members of the Regiment and the dependents thereof who are in conditions of need, hardship or distress”
“for such other charitable purposes as the Trustees shall in their discretion from time to time think fit”
Benevolence and Welfare. Last financial year the Regimental charitable funds awarded grants in excess of £22,700 and assisted 32 individuals from across KRH, the former Regiments and fami- lies. In the period April to December 2021 grants in excess of £15,500 have already been awarded to more than 22 individuals.
Our Regimental charitable funds provide fast and effective help to those in need. Funds are administered by HHQ, who work very closely with other Service charities such as The Army Benevolent Fund, SSAFA, The Royal British Legion and many others. We also rely heavily on the teams of local SSAFA and RBL branch volunteer caseworkers.
KRH benevolence is delivered by two charitable funds, the Regimental Welfare Fund and the Charles Benjamin Wilson Bequest (CB Wilson).
The Regimental Welfare Fund. The Welfare Fund is a part of the Regimental Trust and income is derived from a combination
of Regimental investments, Day’s Pay contributions of serving officers and soldiers, and donations from old comrades and other charitable bodies.
The Charles Benjamin Wilson Bequest. The CB Wilson Fund has its own Trustees and also supports officers, soldiers and fami- lies of The King’s Royal Hussars and the former Regiments. Its income is derived from the legacy of Captain C B Wilson, a for- mer 10th Hussar officer, who left a bequest in memory of his only son, Johnny, who was killed in the Western Desert in 1942.
The Welfare Fund needs your help to continue providing this crucial support. You can assist by donating as follows:
