Dear Advertiser,

July 2019
The Royal Southampton Yacht Club is Solent based and a very vibrant, successful yacht club. It has an expanding membership, drawing its members primarily from the Solent area. Members’ boats can be found moored in marinas in Southampton, Hamble, Beaulieu River, Portsmouth and elsewhere.
The Club runs an extensive racing, cruising and social program from its bases at RSYC Gins on the Beaulieu River and RSYC Itchen which is the racing, training and administration centre. On the racing front it is one of the founder members of the Combined Clubs of Cowes which runs Cowes Week Regatta where it is a prominent part of the race management team. It awards the premier trophies on the first day of Cowes Week Regatta.
The RSYC Trust reaches out to the wider communities in Southampton, New Forest and Romsey areas supporting RYA training for dinghy sailing amongst Young Carer Groups. This work was showcased to our Admiral HRH Prince Michael of Kent on his visit to Gins in July and received much publicity.
The Club closed one of its two clubhouses as it was uneconomic and a drag upon the club’s finances and focus. The Club has renewed its focus upon on-the-water activities and has a very busy year round clubhouse where members can sail or canoe in the club’s fleet of boats. There is a large walk ashore pontoon where members and many yachts-people visit the club year round.
The strategy of the club is to be the “go to” Royal Yacht Club in the Solent area offering terrific service and value for money to its members and it is succeeding in this aim. Exceptionally it has wonderful riverside lawns for outside recreation and dining. The reach of the RSYC extends well beyond its own members into the yachting community and beyond with a Mutuality Agreement with the Royal London Yacht Club and a close relationship with the Southampton Water Activity Centre as well as reciprocal clubs worldwide.
Advertising with the RSYC places your products and services before a wide community of people interested in boating and who support businesses by buying products and services from them not just for their hobby but also for the wide range of things needed for daily life, their homes and financial needs.
We welcome Crest as our newly appointed publishers who shall be contacting you on our behalf regarding ‘Yachter’. We appreciate your support and we are very pleased to have a selected group of advertisers associated with our Royal Yacht Club and its values.
Yours sincerely,
Anthony J Knight Commodore
